SEO Seattle

by | Feb 11, 2011 | Miscellaneous

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” This is the process in how to improve the traffic to a web site from different search engine, such as: Google. You typically want your sites page rank to be at the top of the list. Then visitors see your site and go to that one first. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific search engines.

SEO involves many factors involving how search engines work and what people are searching for. This is part of the Internet marketing strategy. If you edit the content of the HTML coding to match specific key words, the search engine can find your site easier.

SEO is simply a set of methods in which to garner high rankings naturally (aka “organically”) for certain keyterms in search engines. In other words, if a website wants to be found by a surfer using a search engine, such as Google, then they must make their site compliant to certain standards if it wishes to be ranked high for its keyterms/categories.

For example, if Bob’s Bumpers want to be at the top of the page for results when a surfer searches for “1998 Honda Accord Front Bumper”, then it must not only optimize the code on its site but must make sure the site or a specific page is designed specificallly for the keyterm “1998 Honda Accord Front Bumper”.

The founding of Seattle is usually dated from the arrival of the Denny Party in 1851. The next April, Arthur A. Denny abandoned the original site at Alki in favor of a better protected site on Elliott Bay that is now part of downtown Seattle. Around the same time, David Swinson “Doc” Maynard began settling the land immediately south of Denny’s.

Seattle in its early decades relied on the timber industry, shipping logs (and later, milled timber) to San Francisco. A climax forest of trees up to 1,000–2,000 years old and towering as high as nearly 400 ft (100 m) covered much of what is now Seattle. Today, none of that size remain anywhere in the world.

When Henry Yesler brought the first steam sawmill to the region, he chose a location on the waterfront where Maynard and Denny’s plats met. Thereafter Seattle would dominate the lumber industry.

Seattle, throughout its history, has proven to be one of America’s most resilient cities—constantly weathering disasters, economic and natural, from its Pacific perch. In less than two centuries it has come to stand tall as one of the great cities of the American West. In recent years it has become the home of several biotechnology companies and research institutes in addition to remaining one of the capitals of aerospace and computing and is without a doubt a city looking toward the future (although a future quite different from the one imagined in 1962). It is certain that great things are to be expected in the 21st century from the emerald of the Pacific Northwest.
